My First Time Playing PUBG: An Unforgettable Experience
Every gamer has that one unforgettable moment when they dive into a new game for the first time — for me, that was PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG). I still remember the excitement, the confusion, and the adrenaline rush that came with my very first match. PUBG wasn’t just a game; it was a new world that tested my survival instincts, reflexes, and strategy skills all at once.
The First Drop: Confused but Excited
When I loaded into my first match, I didn’t really know what to expect. All I knew was that 100 players were dropped onto an island and only one could survive. I watched in awe as the plane soared across the map, filled with players preparing to jump. I had no idea when or where to jump, so I panicked and pressed the button when I saw a few others jump.
As I floated down toward a cluster of buildings, my heart was racing. The map looked huge, and the world felt incredibly open compared to the linear games I was used to. I landed awkwardly on the roof of a house, took fall damage almost immediately, and laughed at my clumsy start.
The Scavenger Hunt: Finding My First Weapon
Inside the house, I found my first weapon — a shotgun. It wasn’t the best choice for a beginner, but it felt like I had just found a hidden treasure. I quickly picked up ammo, a backpack, and a few random items without fully understanding what they did. Every door I opened, every item I picked up, made the game feel even more intense.
Hearing gunshots in the distance made my palms sweat. Even though no one was nearby, every sound felt threatening. I wasn’t just playing a game — I was surviving.
The First Encounter: Panic Mode Activated
After carefully sneaking through a few houses, I finally saw my first enemy. They hadn’t noticed me yet. My mind raced: Should I shoot? Should I hide? I decided to be brave and fired my shotgun. I missed completely. They turned around, shot back with a much better weapon, and I was eliminated within seconds.
Even though I lost my very first fight, the rush of adrenaline I felt was unbelievable. Instead of feeling frustrated, I was hooked. I immediately wanted to play again, to learn, to improve.
Learning the Hard Way: Mistakes Were Made
In my next few matches, I made every rookie mistake possible — standing still in open fields, not watching the blue zone, picking fights I wasn’t ready for, and forgetting to heal. But each mistake taught me something new.
I realized that PUBG wasn’t just about shooting; it was about positioning, awareness, and patience. You needed to pick your battles wisely. It wasn’t about how many kills you got, but how smart you played to survive longer.
A New Appreciation for Strategy Games
Playing PUBG for the first time made me appreciate tactical games much more. It wasn't like the fast-paced shooters I had played before. Here, every decision mattered. Should I loot more or move into the safe zone? Should I engage an enemy or sneak past them?
That first day playing PUBG, I didn’t win any matches, but I had the most fun I had experienced in a long time. Every match felt like a story — one filled with danger, excitement, mistakes, and unforgettable moments.
The Beginning of a New Journey
Looking back, my first time playing PUBG was the beginning of a long journey. It introduced me to the world of battle royale games and connected me with new friends who loved the thrill just as much as I did. Over time, I improved, learned advanced tactics, and even earned my first "Chicken Dinner."
But nothing will ever beat the memories of those first few games — the confusion, the excitement, and the feeling that anything could happen at any moment.
If you’ve never played PUBG, I highly recommend giving it a try. And if you have, think back to your very first match — you’ll realize how far you've come.
